Scanning protection is a protective measure that uses special system-dependent safety features to prevent a tool from scanning of the position of the key query and prevents pins from being brought into the correct position.
Therefore, the locking elements of the cylinder are very often shaped differently. No conclusion can be drawn about the clear opening height.

KESO, for example, offers up to 12 geometrically different pin types. As each pin requires the appropriate recess on the key and also partly on the mating pin, there is no clear height for the zero position of the locking elements.
