IKON Radii profile extra

The newly developed and patented IKON radii profiles are based on a high quality and sturdy nickel silver key blank with 11 active spring-loaded locking elements. The profile match of the key is arranged parallel to the back of the key. The profile characteristics are arranged as radii. Copy techniques are severely hampered with this special arrangement of radii on the variable and fix profile characteristics on the key’s external side. A higher key copy protection can also be achieved through the optionally available profile control pin with key catching function. The key of the radii profile extra has an additional coding on the side, which enables more combination and organisation possibilities and ensures even higher security against break-ins and lock picking. The system is suitable for simple and complex locking systems.

This system can be ordered as a locking system in our locking system configurator or as a reorder.

Technical details

  • 11 (6+5) active spring-loaded pin locking elements according to DIN EN 1303 or DIN 18252 = security against breakins, scanning and lock picking
  • up to 5 additional, active spring-loaded ball pins and respective key coding
  • paracentric key profile with crescent-shaped cuts
  • with increased technical key copy protection (KCP=KT1) due to profile control pin with key catching function
  • increased drilling protection as standard due to the hardened cylinder body pin and the first set of steel pins
  • high pulling protection due to the clawed cam made of sturdy nickel silver
  • increased protection against picking and lock bumping
  • core pins made of wear-resistant special bronze
  • crowned cylinder core head with reinforced key insertion
  • cam made of break-proof, corrosion-resistant nickel silver profile
  • DIN EN 1303, locking security class 6
  • DIN EN 1303, attack resistance class 0, optionally with drilling protection class B/D and pulling protection
  • protected key profile with security card
  • patent protection until 2037

Execution

  • cylinder body: brass matt nickel plated
  • vertical key insertion
  • conventional locking system
  • combination with electronic possible at any time by transponder key, also as subsequent extension

Operational area

  • front doors, connecting doors, office doors, interior doors, exterior doors, apartment doors, gates, wooden doors, aluminium doors, tubular frame doors, etc.
  • for simple and complex locking systems

Key

  • nickel silver serrated key with square metal bow
  • 13 mm key neck

Options / Special equipment

  • different cylinder finishes
  • increased drilling protection class 2 (AB = 2)
  • core extraction protection
  • emergency and danger function
  • weather protection
  • low-wear version
  • freewheel (on request)

Description of the additional options

Copy protection with key catch function (standard)

Only original IKON keys may be used, because KCP=KT1 cylinders are equipped with a key catch function that catches and blocks unauthorised copied keys in a certain position.

Cylinder finishes

  • standard finish: brass matt nickel plated
  • optional: brass matt brushed, brass polished
  • for individual design requirements
  • if a homogeneous appearance of door cylinder and fitting is desired
  • There may be slight colour variations between the surfaces shown and the original colours.

IKON drilling protectionIKON drilling protection

Standard drilling protection (AB = 1)

  • for medium security requirements
  • the first pair of pins made of steel
  • one carbide pin in the cylinder body is combined with several carbide elements in the cylinder core

Increased drilling protection class 2 (AB = 2)

  • for increased security requirements
  • increased protection against drilling due to additional hard metal pins in the cylinder core and cylinder body

IKON core pulling protectionIKON core pulling protection

High drilling protection and core pulling protection (AB=KS)

To protect the core or locking cylinder against pulling, profile cylinders can be supplied with core pulling lock with pulling protection of locking cylinder and integrated drilling protection AB = 3 (AB = 2 for blocking shaft and radii profile extra) (VdS approved).

Emergency and danger functionEmergency and danger function

Emergency and danger function

This function enables the locking cylinder to be locked even if a key with locking authorisation is inserted on the opposite side.

Weather protectionWeather protection

Weather protection

  • corrosion-protected design
  • cam and forend screw made of stainless material
  • surface finish: matt chrome plated

Low-wear versionLow-wear version

Low-wear version

Locking cylinders that are exposed to extreme conditions are provided in a special design with a low-wear core pin on request.

FreewheelFreewheel

Freewheel

The profile cylinders which have a freely rotating cam are designated as freewheel cylinders.
The cam can be moved freely through 360° when no key is inserted.
When the key is inserted, the spring-loaded clutch engages in the cam. This then allows the cylinder to be closed in the conventional way with the key.

  • Usually only necessary for special panic or automatic locks. If in doubt, please check with the door manufacturer.
  • for multi-point locks with panic function: latch and bolt must be moved into the lock body when the door is closed with the handle. To ensure this, the cam must be able to turn freely.
  • in motor-driven locks and special escape door locks
  • restrictions possible in combination with other optional equipment
